Text Complexity Rubrics

Text Complexity Rubric Guide

The Text Complexity Rubric linked above contains detailed instructions and a blank rubric that can be reproduced for use within your curriculum. The purpose of the rubric is to provide guidance for educators in determining whether a given text meets the demands of rigor and complexity demanded by the CCGPS. The appropriateness of a text should be determined based upon a variety of factors that include, but are not limited to, Lexile. This rubric provides a metric by which to evaluate your texts. Examples of rubrics by specific titles are listed in the menu on the right. We would appreciate the submission of any completed rubrics that you would like to share with GaDOE, as we are establishing this site where teachers will be able to share and use the evaluations of texts by their peers.
