ExPreSS Programs


The purpose of the two ExPreSS (Exam Preparation for Science and Social Studies) programs, online or face-to-face, is to address statewide Science and Social Studies performance on the Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GHSGT).  The two ExPreSS Programs support the following State Board of Education Strategic Plan Goals:

   Goal 1: Increase high school graduation rate, decrease high school dropout rate, and increase post-secondary enrollment rate.
   Goal 3: Improve workforce readiness skills.
   Goal 5: Improve the SAT, ACT, and achievement scores of Georgia students.
 

Online ExPreSS

Beginning February 1, 2010, a free Online ExPreSS Tutorial Program will be offered by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) for high school students and certificate of attendance recipients who were unsuccessful on or who have not yet taken the Science and/or Social Studies Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GHSGT).  The Online ExPreSS modules are self-paced and are based on the instructional plans created for the summer ExPreSS Program.

 New Account  Registration 

Students must have access to their Georgia Testing Identifier (GTID) in order to create their own registration account. Participants will be able to access both the science and social studies tutorial program.

Project ExPreSS

The Project ExPreSS program is a face-to-face, targeted, state-wide summer remediation program for high school students who have failed the Social Studies or Science portions of the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT). The program will allow student participants to take the Social Studies or Science portions of the GHSGT on the last day of the remediation program.

June 14-25, 2010.
